The Edible Classroom
We are pleased to announce that Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Company in Mansfield, MO has graciously provided all of our seeds for the Edible Classroom!
What is an Edible Classroom? It’s a fun way to say garden class with kids. Time at the Table will begin spreading it’s seed, per se, this Spring in our local community of Mitchell, SD. We have worked really hard this summer setting up the first CSA program, marketing the Farmers’ Market to it’s best summer to date, and now as cooler temperatures begin to invade we are preparing for next Spring utilizing the curriculum from What’s on your Plate?
We all know that gardens take a lot of work and some money as well, which simply means it’s time to get indoors. We had a Fall Harvest Celebration Dinner (raising over $2000) with Old Fashion Fireside storytelling from generational farmers throughout the region. The night will include an all local dinner prepared by culinary student Chef Chelsea, a silent auction with several local items up for bid and all for the cause to start an Edible Classroom. If you would like to donate visit Time at the Table to do so.
Registration is currently open to enroll your child in the Edible Classroom or Kitchen Kids programs.
